10:37 pm - Kinderen voor kinderen
Kinderen voor kinderen exists 30 years this year as does, coincedently the walkman. Lets celebrate this with a tribute post for kinderen voor kinderen en post some of your favourite Kvk clips/songs or hold a KvK marathon on youtube ;)

One of the first songs of the first KvK was "Ik heb zo waanzinnig gedroomt." one that I can remember having on a cassete and playing on my walkman

Is it me being an old fart that I like the old songs way better than the new ones?

*Goes off singing "Op een onbewoont eiland"*

2:57 am - Quote of the Day
"Don't they speak their own dialect in Austria, like Ostrich?"

After Nicky and me were discussing the Fritzl case. I had to share and had to immortalize it. ^^

3:25 pm - The buracracy that is Sweden.
I always thought that Holland had a lot of red tape, but it is no where near to where Sweden is. I don't think we have had any forms that we filled in that we didn't get back at one time...only to get exactly the same form into which we have to write exactly the same information. And even after that they might still not get it correct.

Nicklas for instance changed it's address with all the gorvement instances, but somehow they screwed it up totally and his mail was sent to the new mail address of his roommate. No idea how they did that, and finally after changing the adress 3 times they found the right mail box!

So today I got a form back from the student aid, a form I sent in a couple of weeks ago. However, this doesn't seem to look at all like an answer saying yah or nay you will get your student aid. It is a form that looks exactly the same as the one I sent in only with some stuff already filled, like school and year.

So here I go filling in again. Hopefully they will get it right this time!

Shamelessly imitating [info]alientjeThe Big Read rechons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed.

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicize those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you LOVE.
4) Strike out the books you have no intention of ever reading, or were forced to read at school and hated.
5) Reprint this list in your own LJ so we can try and track down these people who've read 6 and force books upon them ;-)

Some of the books I've started in but if I didn't read at least more than half of it and didn't list them as read ;)

Oooh pilot season has started and don't you just love the interwebs for leaking em.

One pilot that's a must have is the Life on Mars US one, since there is apparently already a ruckus about it. What I read is that they are re-shooting it away from LA to New York. Besides that they might recast the cast except for the lead and it seems David E. Kelly (of Ally MacBeal fame) has left the show. One wonders if there will be anything left.

US version of Life on Mars gets lost in translation

Other leaked pilots are Fringe, from J.J. Abrams (Lost) and True Blood, based and the Sookie Stackhouse novels and created by Alan Ball (American Beauty, Six Feet Under.)

Lets hope it's a good year for new shows!

3:29 pm - My First Swedish Diploma
Weeeeeeeh I got my first Swedish diploma. Well not really got it yet, but I did my last part of the National test today, the oral part of the test, and I just heard back from them that I passed that part as well. Which means I will soon get my little piece of paper sent to me :D

Pretty proud of it too, because besides me there was only one other that very likely finished too (I don't what he got for his oral but because I was present during most of it I would be very amazed if he didn't get it too.) That's only 2 people of the 20 total.

There might be more that passed as far as the oral exam (you have to get enough points on the reading/writing/listening part to even be eligible for the oral exam), but they weren't there when most of us got our grades back.

So very proud of myself.

Now I'll just continue studying and hopefully become kick-ass in Swedish!

12:59 am - Vent vent super vent, aka The Golden Compass movie is baaaad!
Finished the Nothern Lights today and thought lets have a look at the movie that did of it and OMG how more could they have screwed this up.

*thinks hard*

Nope, don't think they could have made it worst, not even if they put Jean Claude van Damme in it or something.

I was cringing every two seconds or so, and besides the film going over most of the plots of the book and randomly twisting them there was also some pretty bad acting, especially of some of the adults.

Hollywood if I had any faith left in you you've just completely obliterated that.

11:44 pm - Reading bug.
Weeh finished a book in a day, haven't done that in a loooooong while (Terry Pratchett's Making Money). Could it be that the reading bug has finally caught me again?
Although it has bad timing though, the Swedish weather has been lovely this last few days but it's too windy to sit outside and read a book ;) , good excuse to stay inside of course.

Well onto the next book, a re read of The Northern Lights/The Golden Compass. The first time I read it as the Nothern Lights but the present incarnation I rented is called The Golden Compass. I want to finish the entire series, but never got passed the first few pages of Part two: The Subtle Knife.

*Curls up in bed with a book*

Five randomn things I learned about Sweden.

1. Swedes have a thing about throwing kitchen trash in the sink first and later in a trash can (sometimes too late for my taste :P)

2. In Sweden you'll always go to the next class in school and you can't be left behind. (Primary and secondary school)

3. Sweden has even got more red tape than f.i. Holland does.

4. You have million ways to write the sound sj/ch (soft g) in sweden (Karlek, tjäna, kjol etc to infintum)

5. Well known holidays are often celebreted the day before, Julafton (christmas eve), but also Påskafton (easter eve).

9:19 pm - Wilgje's Stamp of Approval.
Have started watching 2 new series today (what else is there to do with the hiatus/writers strike). The first one I checked out was Jericho and finished watching the first two episodes. Interesting start and seeing as I'm downing the rest of the series it definitely is worth a watch. For those who have been living in a fall out shelter, Jericho is the show that was brought back by fan action after it was canceled the first season. They had this whole thing going on with sending in bags of nuts for Jericho.

The second one I watched is called jPod. It's quirky it's edgy it's Canadian, and for some of the SG1loving people it has some familiar names and faces attached to it (one of them [info]alientje and I  even saw in real life). Two episodes so far, so get with the buzz before all the cool kids do ;).

Ok I probably should stop procrastinating seeing as I have my second swedish test tomorrow. Men jag vill inte!  Wish me luck!

12:31 am - If even Joss likes this who am I to disagree

This vid was posted on Whedonesque by the master himself, who himself was poked about it by Tim Minear....
Both of them commented as well in the vidder's  journal

The maker of this vid must have had a pretty cool day and I have to say it's a pretty good vid as well.

And aint it scary to think who could be lurking around reading your journals. ;-)

*Goes on watching and listening to Wicked, which I discovered through Ugly Betty and in which, I later found out, Kristin Chenoweth
of Pushing Dasies  fame played Glinda*

6:10 pm - Whatever happened to Rose?
Poor poor Rose, things really went down since the Doctor left her. The poor thing is turning tricks now she even wrote it down in a diary.

Ah well at least she is still amusing, although I would say a bit going on the thinner side.
